Curb Appeal for Selling in 2020

Curb appeal is where it's at when you are preparing your home for selling. Just like you'd want to put their best foot forward when going on a date, the same goes for your home! The first thing people will see is the exterior of your home, whether searching online or just passing by. First impressions count, so lets talk about 3 ways to update your curb appeal and have buyers knocking down your door!

First things first, lets talk about front doors. Did you know that the front door is the number one improvement that will get you the most return on your investment? Even more than a remodeled kitchen, the front door is the number one thing that will get you more for your money. Number two is the garage door, in case you are wondering.

Let's explore the front door and why it makes such a difference. Perhaps you already have a beautiful, updated front door that is freshly painted; then you can check this off your list! Front doors are your first impression and it's like the beginning of unwrapping a present. If your front door is outdated, you can either replace it or if you are looking to save some money, just put on a fresh coat of paint and some new hardware. These changes will go a long way and will set the stage for a successful showing.

Another easy update is house numbers. I like these modern, large numbers because they are easy to read from the street and add a clean, fresh look.  House numbers are reletively inexpensive and easy to find at your nearest hardware store. If modern isn't your style you could go for cursive or simply repaint your current numbers. These modern and cursive numbers can be found on www.etsy.com at the GoHomeNumbers shop.

Lastly, a beautiful potted plant with fresh flowers adds some brightness and cheeriness to any door step!

If you dont have a green thumb, you can add Miracle-Gro Water Storing Crystals. These will ensure that your pot doesnt get dry and your plants are happy.

If putting a pot together is overwhelming, just remember to use a thriller, a spiller and a filler. To the right I have suggestions for each of these categories.

Thriller

Begonia

Dahlia

Geranium

Spiller

Creeping Jenny

Ivy

Sweet Potato Vine

Filler

Allyssum

Angelonia

Snap Dragons

These are some fun ways to freshen up your home and make a strong, lasting impression! Thanks for stopping by my blog, more tips to come!
