Staging Your Home to Sell

When it comes to selling your home, appearance is everything.  You want to create a space that is neautral and allows buyers to imagine themselves living in your house. Although it may feel bare to you, less is more!

Decluttering is number one. You want to remove the knick knacks and personal family photos so buyers can visualize themselves living there.  With decluttering, I like to advise the rule of 3. Don't have more than 3 items on any surface. And it's okay to have no items on a surface.

Sometimes we are so used to a space that we dont see the clutter, and sometimes the clutter is just overwhelming.

If the clutter is overwhelming and you don't know where to start, I recommend pulling everything out of the room and start from scratch. This is a good time to deep clean floors, paint walls and freshen up the place. Emptying the room also gives you the oportunity to put items back in the room that showcase your home and make it feel fresh and new. By doing this, you also are letting go of the feeling of it being your home. Once it's on the market it is no longer your home, it's an asset you are trying to make a profit on.

If you are unsure or uncomfortable stagin your home, I'm here to help. When you hire me as your real estate agent, not only will I market your home to see quickly; I also give free staging consultation and can help guide you step by step.  So remember when you are ready to sell... Just Call Paula!
